FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Birth of a Dream

It began with a vision....

Today's Date -- 2/1/08-- Carolina Calendars, Inc. has recently secured funding to guarantee its start-up and distribution for its 2009 Cliffs to Coast Calendar.  The company's first annual calendar will feature the photography of its president and founder Andy Matejka.   The company is under contract to distribute 10,000 units in the first fiscal year while it works to negotiate agreements that will fuel its annual growth within North Carolina's billion dollar tourism Industry.  Future plans include franchise offerings for neighboring states once the North Carolina business model has been developed and is executed properly.

As a budding entrepreneur, Andy had developed and modified the vision for Carolina Calendars, Inc.  by combining a passion for travel and recreation, photography, and the desire to be self-employed.   However, with a growing family and successful career in the staffing industry, it was just too difficult to step away.  "It really has been a work in progress.  Almost like a child, my business idea has grown from it's inception to fruition.  It's both scary and exciting actually.  I've been traveling around the state for nearly 15 years and have collected some great photographs to share."

Unfortunately, it has taken Mr. Matejka nearly ten years to actually commit to the project.  "I've just not been able to place the business concept on the front burner."  Other priorities and family obligations haven't allowed Andy to conduct business until recently.  "My wife and I have been pretty busy trying to build and grow our home and family.  Who has time to risk what we've been working for?  I've finally saved enough to get things started and anticipate that I'll continue to work for my current employer for at least another year."  The business plan doesn't really account for enough profit until the second year of operation according to Matejka.  We are going to be shopping for one local North Carolina Corporation to underwrite the distribution of one million calendars in conjunction with our fundraising efforts which will be announced at a later date.

For now though, this young entrepreneur will settle for the dozen or so weekend working vacations that he'll drag his wife and kids throughout the year.  I'm always searching for that one of a kind photograph that justifies packing up the family and touring North Carolina's cliffs or coast.

December 1, 2008  Andy Matejka, President and CEO of Carolina Calendars, Inc. has released details of its December and January Promotional Event campaigns for your workplace or your business.  Your purchase of the 2009 NC Cliffs to Coast Calendar can win you valuable prizes like meals, gift cards, greens fees and even ACC basketball tickets!  Prizes will be drawn and awarded to qualifying participants  on individual basis and in conjunction with participating area establishments.  "It's going to be lots of fun.  One minute you may be in a sports bar watching the pre-game ceremony with friends and the next thing you know, you've one tickets or a prize that requires you to pay your tab, pack your bag and get to the game or the airport!  It's really a fun time!"

Carolina Calendars, Inc.  has donated it season tickets to a local ACC team in order to have lots of fun.  Other prizes include gift cards for area restaurants, hotels, golf courses, and gasoline.   Sponsored by area businesses that host the events, these parties can be tons of fun and help draw local traffic out from the traditional post holiday hibernation.  "It can be win-win situation when a facility is hosting a live drawing on a typically slow Wednesday night and the winner will jump in a limo and get to the local game," says Matejka  who is finishing his first year of operations with Carolina Calendars, Inc.

The majority of our sales have been generated by now and it's time to begin focusing our efforts to recruiting advertisers for the 2010 Calendar, but we can have some additional fun clearing out our 2009 inventory and working on building that solid customer foundation needed for years to come.   How can you have fun when the economy is in turmoil?  Simple, make the best of what you have.  The glass is both half full and half empty.  The choice is yours, have fun and make money or cry, sulk and pout because you didn't!

4/1/09  No Foolin'!  2008 was a challenging year and we fell a bit shy of my personal goal for the Company; however, 2009 is quite promising.

Please visit our Exhibition Booth at the NC PTA Conference at the Hilton Hotel in Greenville on Saturday April 25, 2009.  We will be on hand to provide details for the 2010 Calendar and this years' promotional campaign.  With a sluggish economy on the rebound, the forecast is optimistic since our marketing model requires our network of advertisers and fundraisers to work together in order to streamline efficiencies as consumers demand value!

Hope to see you there!
